Pokémon Sword and Shield is proving to be a renewal of the Pokémon saga. In order to guide you through the new features of the game, we have created guides for each new element. We will also talk to you here about mints, the small plants that your Pokémon can smell in order to change some of their statistics. Follow this guide to know all the details!
What are Mints?
These are items that can be obtained in the game. They have their own place in the backpack. These mints influence the rate of progression of certain statistics of a selected Pokémon. This will make easier to create Pokémon with the statistics you want without having to worry about the nature of the latter. In other words, it saves a lot of time.
How does it work?
Normally, it's the nature of the Pokémon that determines how fast each of its statistics can improve, but you can change the process by using a Mint. Note that Mints can't change a Pokémon's HP and using them does not directly influence the nature of a Pokémon.
Here is the complete list of Mints present in the game. They always work in the same way (except in one special case): they speed up the development of one statistic and on the other hand, they reduce the development of another one.

- Naive: but Special Defense development is slower.
The special case:
- Serious: Attack, Defense, Speed, Special Attack and Special Defense develop equally.
Where to find them?
When you finish the game (main story), you can then access the Battle Tower. By winning matches you earn Battle Points (BP) that you can then exchange for items. You can thus buy Mints from the first vendor on the left in the Tower. A Mint costs 50 BP.
