With Rise of the Elements, the Teamfight Tactics development team used Elementary skins that were already present in League of Legends to craft Origins and Classes suitable to the Convergence. It appears that they're going to do the same for Set 3. In a recent video published on Youtube, Lead Producer Dax Andrus, and Lead Designer Stephen Mortimer made a quick summary of the past months but also teased the upcoming Set 3.
"It's a pretty large PROJECT, but with so many STAR champions in the League universe it's been a BLAST trying to figure out how to make SPACE for all of them, especially now that we're getting our finger on the PULSE of what makes a good set." teased Stephen Mortimer, "Our hope is that you'll find the next set out of this world."
With such a clue, it's pretty hard not to understand that the next Set should be revolving around PROJECT, Star Guardians and Pulsefire. All these factions belong to alternate universes of League of Legends.
That's already a lot of champions to possibly count in:
- PROJECT: Akali, Ashe, Blitzcrank, Camille, Ekko, Fiora, Irelia, Jhin, Jinx, Katarina, LeBlanc, Leona, Lissandra, Lucian, Master Yi, Nami, Pyke, Soraka, Vayne, Vi, Warwick, Yasuo, Zed
- Pulsefire: Caitlyn, Ezreal, Riven, Shen, Twisted Fate
- Star Guardians: Ahri, Ezreal, Janna, Jinx, Lulu, Lux, Miss Fortune, Neeko, Poppy, Rakan, Soraka, Syndra, Xayah, Zoe
Riot Games apparently "already started" to work on Set 3, and — if everything goes according to the plan — it should be released in March. The mobile version of Teamfight Tactics should also be made available in the same period.
