Update
With the last Live Letter having brought a lot of news here is our article with everything you need to know about the upcoming 5.3 update planned to be released on August 11 !
Update June 5
In a Letter from the Producer published yesterday, Naoki Yoshida explained that the 5.3 patch, initially planned for June 16 will be delayed by more than a month at the very least. The producer of FFXIV adds that the teams are working the best they can in the current situation and that they do the best they can to keep the delay as short as possible.
In a recent post on the Lodestone, the official website of Final Fantasy XIV, Producer & Director Naoki Yoshida gave more information about the impact of the Coronavirus crises on the production of new patches for FFXIV.
Yoshi-P explained that most of the 5.25 patch was already finished before the crisis and finished by workers that could come to the office safely or work remotely. On the other hand, FFXIV relying a lot on partners also concerned by the crisis too, further development is severely impacted.
Though it is clear that patch 5.3, which was planned for mid-June, will be delayed because of the above, we are at this time undecided as to whether it will be feasible to limit the delay to two or three weeks, or if it will be closer to a month.

It is now clear that we could see Patch 5.3 between the end of June and anywhere in July if the global health situation stayed the same.
With Patch 5.25 released on Tuesday, players still have a little to wait for the massive update that 5.3 is expected to be (by me at least)!
