God of War Ragnarok is on its way to PS5 and will arrive in 2021. However, the information we have about the new game from Santa Monica Studios is quite limited. For this reason, fans have been looking through old tweets from Cory Barlog, looking for clues, and finding details that had gone unnoticed at the time.
However, this isn't the only direction in which new details were sought for this long-awaited game, but the one-minute trailer itself was also scrutinized. On Reddit, the runes that make up the logo have been analyzed, with conclusions drawn that Freya will be a key character in God of War Ragnarok.
For the uninitiated, Freya is the witch of the forest, and helps Kratos and Atreus in their search at different moments of the original. She is also the mother of Baldur, and a former companion of Odin.
The runes in the logo apparently spell the word "Ragnarok". Each runes has a specific meaning too, which is still open to debate:
In this way, several runes would be linked to Freya, which would make perfect sense given the plot and development of God of War, the actions of Kratos and his son would eventually unleash Ragnarok, and with it the death of the gods and the beginning from the age of man.
Another of the theories would talk about time travel, which would allow us to explore even more deeply into northern mythology and its origins. However, the supporting evidence is still slight and subject to interpretation.
Of course, this is just speculation, but Santa Monica Studios really likes to leave clues here and there, and sometimes it's enough to connect the dots and have enough imagination to make sense of it all.
