Why PvP has been disabled in the Trial Version of FFXIV

With today's hotfixes, players using the free trial of Final Fantasy XIV will no longer be able to get into the PvP mode. Here's why.

Why PvP has been disabled in the Trial Version of FFXIV

A new hotfix has been deployed for Final Fantasy XIV to respond to a problematic usage of the Trial Version of the game.

As explained by the game's development team, "new incidents of illicit activity were confirmed last weekend in Rival Wings, including cases where machina were flying above the ground".

Some players were using hundreds of free trial accounts to take advantage of the Front PvP mode.

While creating countermeasures to avoid abuse of the Free Trial edition of the game, the FFXIV team decided to disable access to PvP for free accounts.

This is supposed to be a "temporary emergency measure," and PvP should be accessible again for free players in the future.
