Patch 2.1 of Genshin Impact saw many of player spending on the Raiden Shogun banner. SensorTower shared that between August 25 to 31, players had spent an amount approaching $31 million.
During the following week and the release of patch 2.1, the figures went up to 151 million dollars with only the first week of September. This increase can be explained by the crystal purchase bonus refresh, but also by the arrival of Baal, the Raiden Shogun.
The Shogun was a selling point for the expension, even if poorly received by a part of the community that had many expectations for the electro archon just like Xiao alone generated 15 million dollars the day he was released.
The SensorTower site gave some details on this amount by explaining that the App Store in China alone generated 55.7 million or the equivalent of 37% of the amount. In second place, the United States with about 20% and in third place it is Japan with close to 19%.
