MMOs aren't typically games that can be played on mobiles, but it appears there is a workaround for Amazon's New World.
Thanks to the Steam Link application, you can play New World directly from your bed, your bathroom, or your sofa through your mobile, tablet, or television.
The Steam Link app is easily downloadable on Android devices, and can even be found in the application catalog on certain Samsung smart televisions.
Simply hook up the Steam Link via USB, configure a controller profile, and off you go -- New World on your TV!
Reddit user u/Carnach has shown an example of New World running on mobile.
On tablet and mobile you'll play with touchscreen controls that mirror your controller profile, as you can see in the video on Reddit.
Naturally the experience isn't as good as when you play on PC, and any kind of intensive combat, Expedition running or PvP is probably not a good idea. However, it could be good for farming sessions when you're sat on the couch.
Downloading the application isn't a complicated process:
- Install Steam Link from your app store.
- Log into the PC where Steam is running
- Start playing!
Steam recommends using a 5G, WiFi or Ethernet cable connection for better performance. While it's functional, we obviously can't guarantee an optimal experience.
While Steam Link is an Steam-developed tool available to anyone with the platform, it's also not known whether Amazon Games support this workaround officially.
