If some Minecraft players have been able to access a version including ray tracing on some Xbox Series consoles, the developers have backtracked in a new statement on social medias, and more precisely on Twitter.
According to them, this new version on Xbox Series was a mistake since it " inadvertently included prototype code for ray tracing support ". It (ray tracing) has since been removed from the Preview build, and Mojang Studios has claimed that this error is also not a sign of future plans for consoles .
By this statement, it must be understood that the consoles, whether PS5 or Xbox Series tonight, are not ready to welcome the ray tracing functionality for Minecraft, and that's a shame.
Nevertheless, we are still entitled to wonder if the studio did not want to try, by this declaration, to drown the fish so as not to reveal in broad daylight the updates to come in the cubic title. Only time can answer our questions. In the meantime, we remind you that the Wild Update is still scheduled for this summer and that the first Snapshots have been deployed. These introduce several new features including the Deep Dark biome, frogs, but also the Warden!
