While version 2.6 adding the Chasm and Ayato to Genshin Impact was released last month, players are now eagerly awaiting their next adventures in the world of Teyvat, however, sad news has emerged on the game's official Twitter. Hoyoverseregarding the next update which was to implement version 2.7 .
Genshin Impact Update 2.7 Postponed
Since its release on September 28, 2020, Genshin Impact has always been able to provide content on a regular basis by offering updates every 5 to 6 weeks without necessarily being delayed despite the various factors that may impact development such as Covid-19 by example. At least, that was the case until today's announcement since version 2.7 will not arrive on time. 2.7 was scheduled to be released around May 10 , but now the release date is no longer defined and we will have to wait for an official press release to find out when the next update will be released.
As the Tweet below indicates, the reason for this postponement is related to the progress of the project which should not progress as planned by the miHoYo teams. This kind of news may sadden you, but you also have to tell yourself that it is better for the content to arrive later in the year, well tied up and finished, rather than having a 2.7 version delivered on time, but completely buggy with a lack of finish.
Genshin Impact version 2.7: The consequences and compensations of the postponement
Such an announcement can completely upset the plans that were planned for the studio's Action-RPG. The first consequence of this postponement is simply the vagueness concerning the next few weeks since the 2.6 update was supposed to end on May 10 with the closing of its last events and banners. We can therefore expect to see the duration of these contents being extended or even one or two events taking over in the meantime although it is unlikely if the development team is focused on releasing version 2.7 as soon as possible.
The second consequence that could take place is the loss of players, because this is not new, but Genshin Impact has often been criticized for its lack of Endgame content and having content on a monthly basis allowed to keeping players spellbound for most of the time. The third consequence is linked to the first and concerns the next region bearing the name of Sumeru . This area is highly anticipated by players and should therefore be shifted as well. We remind you that Sumeru could add the first playable character with a Divine Eye Dendro . The fourth consequence concerns rather the employees who will surely have to work twice as hard to offer the 2.7 update as soon as possible although we are waiting to know the new release date through an official press release.
We have one last detail that we want to come back to, these are the planned compensations. Admittedly, miHoYo has not yet communicated on this and this is normal, but we can imagine that players will receive primo-gems as during compensation related to maintenance or various problems related to characters or other elements. It now remains to be seen if other rewards will also be present and if it is indeed primo-gems that miHoYo will offer for this postponement. Finally, we hope that this change will not have too many negative impacts on the game or on the teams behind it who have our full support.
