If you too have already spent dozens of hours on Disney Dreamlight Valley and you are going around in circles now since you have completed the quests for all the characters and decorated your village properly, you will have to wait a few more weeks before you can enjoy the next content update! The developers have given more information on this subject: approximate dates of the Lion King update and a ton of bug fixes to improve early access (the game will be released entirely in 2023 as a reminder, in free-to-play ).
A date for the Lion King update?
Unfortunately, we still don't have a precise date for the big Lion King update that DDV promised us for the fall. That said, a recent official tweet gives us some indications:
- It wo n't arrive for 3 weeks ,
- It will be accompanied by a large corrective patch and a few surprises,
-
It will not be launched at the same time as the end of the Path of the Stars (the Battle Pass),
As I'm good at math (that's wrong), so I estimate that the update will take place between the week of October 17 and the week of October 24, 2022. October 19 or 20 seem to be good dates but this is only an estimate and the developers will take the time they need to deploy the update, especially if the latter is also expected to provide around 40 bug fixes.
What novelties can we expect?
The Lion King update has not been detailed more than that but we already know that it will allow us to welcome the new character of Scar in the Valley. It remains to be seen now whether Timon, Pumba, Simba and Nala will also be there as shown in the various game trailers or added later. We can also suspect that the Sunny Plateau will be updated with a story quest to free the pillar and FINALLY catch fish like Walleye in the waterholes.
If only Scar is added as a character, then we can estimate that the update will only allow 2 or 3 hours of additional play for all those who have already completed the quests of the other characters and farmed resources in the meantime.
On the bugfix side, the developers will prioritize three things for the update:
- Problems of data loss and therefore progress (backup),
- Founder's Pack rewards not found issues,
-
Console crashes.
About forty patches are currently planned: this ranges from optimization on PS4 (rip the Nintnedo Switch) to the correction of the Wall-E quest with the famous blocked light bulb through the improvement of the Photo mode!
Also, don't forget that the roadmap calls for another content update in late fall with Toy Story Kingdom!
