Available since the beginning of the month, Disney Dreamlight Valley completely charmed me and became this famous "cozy game" that I was looking for so much after Animal Crossing New Horizons. Passionate about the game therefore, and like many of the readers who find themselves here, I have only one desire: that the next content update with The Lion King finally comes out! We will have to wait a few more weeks unfortunately but in the meantime... I couldn't help but dig deep into the game data which is directly in the Steam (PC) folder. While doing this, I found some juicy information. I also saw that someone did the same thing on Reddit a few days ago and found the full list of characters coming to the game!
Beware of spoilers of course: if you don't want to spoil the surprise, don't read what follows.
Without further ado, here are 3 crazy facts that we can discover in the official files of the game.
The Fairy Godmother seems to live in the pumpkin house!
In a previous article, we thought hard as iron that the character who was going to live in the Pumpkin House was none other than Jack from the film The Nightmare Before Christmas (Tim Burton). With such a beautiful pumpkin and a somewhat gloomy atmosphere in the Forgotten Lands , it seemed to fit!
But it is nothing. In one of the game's files, you can find the exact list of houses available in the Valley : this goes from Rémy's building to Mother Gothel's big willow cabin, including Scar 's future house, which will probably be in the sunny plateau elephant graveyard.
If you look closely at the list, only one house is currently unknown to the battalion: "fairygodmother house". And only one house has no inhabitant yet: the pumpkin house. Cinderella's Fairy Godmother was a logical hypothesis for this pumpkin: it could simply refer to the princess's horse-drawn carriage. And it is now confirmed. It remains to be seen when this character will be unlocked!
When we see that Scar is already in the game data but there is not yet the kingdom of Toy Story for example, we can perhaps expect that this character will also be added during the fall update? It would make a great theme for Halloween anyway.
The list of characters that will be added to the game!
On Reddit, a user also searched the code and found something extremely interesting: the future characters that will be added to the game. In his post , he explains that the data was found in the "audio" folder which corresponds therefore to the dialogues and other onomatopoeias produced by the characters. Having dug through the game data myself, I can confirm the presence of the following characters in the game's "English" audio folder. Note, however, that the developers may very well decide to cancel the presence of a character or add another.
For more clarity, I have sorted them by universe below and I have not put back the 17 characters already present. I've also highlighted potential "villains" like Ursula and Mother Gothel in red:

Important: some characters may actually be Companions, as is the case with Pua with Moana. For example Flounder and Sebastian could be Special Critters unlocked with Ariel or King Triton.
Two very useful new items are coming soon!
Finally, I also identified two objects in the game files. I don't know if they will be added soon or even if we can use them but I think so because they are two very useful objects in any farm game:
- Bait to catch rare fish,
- Fertilizers to speed up the growth of seeds (which would be very practical for farming money with pumpkins, wouldn't it?)
Finally, I also spotted several occurrences of the word " Atlantis " in the game data and this is linked to the symbols found throughout the valley and especially in the mystical cave. Although Kida or Milo are not yet part of the list of upcoming characters, we may find them in the game one day!
