The first monsters you'll encounter in Monster Hunter Rise are quite weak. While the Big Izuchi is a newcomer which has benefited from the many advances made over the games, the Great Baggi is an old monster from the series, and it really doesn't cut it anymore. It calls for small enemies as reinforcements, and relies mostly on tranquilising attacks to win.

- Talents: Insomnia 3 in Expert mode, if you want to totally ignore all of the monster's abilities.
- Special Consumables: Energy drinks
- Dangos: Defense
If you happen to be hit by a tranquilising effect, your character takes a few seconds to fall asleep. You have plenty of time to select the drink from the item bar and start drinking it. The effect is quick.
Don't forget to eat at the canteen before you go hunting.
The fight against the Great Baggi
The Great Baggi will give headshots, hip shots, and small tail shots.
It will regularly call little Baggies as reinforcements, which will complicate things since they share the same strength. Their tranquilizing spit will put you to sleep. As mentioned above, you can rely on energy drinks and your dog to wake you up. Alternatively, you can run into the fray so that a small blow from an enemy will keep you awake.
Do not stay in front of the monster, attack it from the flanks, preferably aiming for the head to inflict maximum damage. Doing this will break its crest, as well as cause it to drop on occasion.
