Monster Hunter Rise was a great success both on Switch and PC, with a release on Steam in January. At the same time Sunbreak was announced for this summer and from then we didn't hear much about what's coming except for the short trailer back in Tokyo.
It seems that the studio is finally ready to show more on the expansion with an exclusive broadcast this March 15, 2022 at 7am on Capcom's Twitch channel.
What to expect during the Sunbreak stream?
It's already been confirmed that new monsters are going to be revealed, which isn't much of a surprise. We can expect there to be some returning heads, but also new monsters inspired by Western folklore, we already have a vampire and a dragon for example.
An overview of the additional region is also to be expected. It seems to contain the ruins of a castle that reminds a bit of the famous Schrade castle, but with a different atmosphere, and a bloody moon. The new city that will serve as a base for hunters should also be presented, it should be a western medieval kingdom too.
An overhaul of certain movements is also to be expected, whether on the walls, or with the filoptere. New attacks should also be introduced for each weapon.
Announcing a release date for Sunbreak would also make sense, summer isn't that far off after all. But a postponement is also not out of the question, or at least a release at the end of the summer, for example at the end of August, or even in September, as was the case with Iceborne.
