With the recent announcement of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, many players are wondering how to get access to the Alpha and Beta for this eighth expansion.
However, you must beware of scams! No need to be impatient — we tell you everything so you don't get caught out!.
Important: The Shadowlands alpha and beta are not yet available, and no date has been given for their deployment. Whatever happens, if you receive alleged access in any way, you should know that it is fake and probably a scam.
Scams and frauds at a glance
We remind you that no one is able to provide you with a key for the alpha and/or beta, since there is none; not only because nothing of the kind has been announced, but also because players selected to participate in this type of event are determined only by Blizzard.
All emails, websites, and anything else that provides you with a link to access are pure scams for malicious purposes. Never click on this type of link, and, in the worst case if you have already done so, never enter your Battle.net account ID or any other confidential information (credit card, address, name, etc.).
Participating in the beta: What you need to do
In order to participate in the alpha and/or beta for Shadowlands, follow the steps below. It should not take you more than one or two minutes:
- Go to the section of the Battle.net website dedicated to Shadowlands by following this link
- Login to your account using "My Account" in the drop-down menu at the top right of the page.
- Then scroll down the page until you get to the "Join the Beta" section.
- Click on "Opt-In Now"
- You are now registered for the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands beta!
Participating in the beta: Alternative method
If you want to participate in the Shadowlands beta, the only thing you need to do is follow the steps below and then be patient — then hope you're lucky!
- Visit https://account.blizzard.com/games.
- Login to your Battle.net account.
- Click on "Games and Subscriptions" in the menu on the left of the page.
- Go to the bottom of the page to find the "Beta Access" section and click on "Go to Beta Profile Settings".
- Once on the "Beta Profile Configuration" page, select the games for which you want to participate in tests. World of Warcraft is at the bottom of the lefr column.
- Once you have made your choice, simply click on "Update Preferences".
There is nothing more to do, the rest is automated. If you are lucky, you will get access as soon as the first announcements of the official deployment of the Shadowlands alpha and/or beta are made.
Otherwise.... We're sorry in advance!
