Covid-19 (coronavirus) has had a big impact on the Overwatch League recently. After the cancellation of events in China and Korea and Paris Eternal Homestand, the whole league is affected since all the matches in March and April will be played exclusively online. These matches won't resume until March 21.
Week 7 schedule is now available, and will notably allow to see the first matches of Seoul Dynasty. All the games will be visible on Youtube Gaming.
Saturday, March 21
- San Francisco Shock vs. Seoul Dynasty at 11:00 am (PT)
- Los Angeles Valiant vs. Los Angeles Gladiators at 1:00 pm (PT)
Sunday, March 22
- Seoul Dynasty vs Los Angeles Gladiators at 11:00 am (PT)
- San Francisco Shock vs. Los Angeles Valiant at 1:00 pm (PT)
The match schedule will be changed to allow all teams around the world to compete with minimal latency issues. These matches will be divided into three groups based on geographical location. We don't know yet who will create each match — which could impact potential ping problems.
We'll have the new Overwatch League schedule next week, and all the matches will be available on Youtube Gaming. Blizzard Esports plans to return to the homestand format as soon as possible — taking into account security and logistics.
Given that many teams haven't been able to play yet — especially the Pacific East Division — the All-Star weekend is postponed after the 2020 Season, and the Midseason Tournament is cancelled. More details will be given in the next weeks.
