With several high-profile streamers encountering cheaters and hackers while playing Call of Duty: Warzone, Infinity Ward has released a statement surrounding the topic. Since the release of Warzone, Infinity Ward has implemented over 50,000 permabans globally and has stated that cheating is an area that is being heavily worked on but isn't always discussed in public.
The Warzone developer continues to say a number of anti-cheat measures are in place to combat the issue of cheaters and cheat providers and include the following measures:
- Infinity Ward's security teams monitor 24/7 to investigate data and identify potential infractions.
- The teams review all possible cheats and hacks, this includes identifying use of aimbots, wallhacks and more.
- IW is working on its in-game reporting system for cheaters, with plans underway to streamline the UI to make reporting cheaters easy for players.
- For all reports sent in, they are analysed and filtered based on key data.
- Once these investigations have been completed, Infinity Ward will work as fast as possible to implement a ban to said player.
In future, Infinity Ward has promised to be more open about its anti-cheat measures and the number of banned players for Warzone.
