Call of Duty fans are rejoicing regarding the return of the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. The remastered version of the single-player mode was released on March 30th on PS4. Although a lot of fans were happy with the release, a number of players questioned the lack of multiplayer and spec ops modes.
In response to the criticism, Activision Blizzard has clarified its decision not to include a remastered multiplayer.
The lack of multiplayer may annoy some fans but if rumours are to be believed, the entire map pool from Modern Warfare 2 is set to be added into the 2019 edition of Modern Warfare as additional content releasing later in the year.
Only remastering the campaign is a very smart decision by Activision. After several years of separation, the entire Call of Duty player base is playing either Modern Warfare and Warzone. Adding another multiplayer mode would split the player base more, similar to what happened when the first Modern Warfare game was remastered in 2017
