Players have been waiting for it for a while: Apex Legends Season 5 will be available tomorrow. To say the least, Respawn Entertainment's battle royale will bring a lot of new features including a new character and game mode.
Be ready to enter the Apex Games on May 12 to find out what this new season has to offer.
Loba
Loba Andrade witnessed the murders of her parents by Revenant when she was nine years old. In order to survive, she decided to overcome life's adversity as best she could. That's how she became a high society celebrity by day and an infamous thief from the Outlands by night.
She's now looking for a treasure, but more importantly, she's seeking to avenge the death of her parents by tracking down their murderer to the Apex Games. She seems ready to do anything to achieve her goal!
Datamined Abilities
- Burglar's Best Friend → Throw a disc and teleport to that location.
- Supply for Demand → Hold %offhand1% to choose a type of loot. Reveal that type of loot in the area around you through walls.
- Black Market Boutique → Place a device that can steal all nearby loot.
- Eye for Quality → Loba can see nearby loot through walls and can open up hidden compartments in loot bins.
Battle Pass
Over 100 exclusive items will be available throughout the season. As usual, these will be Legendary skins, Apex Packs, new battle pass content and maybe some other exclusive cosmetics and rewards.

The Broken Ghost
Season 5 introduces the first-ever Apex Legends Season Quest in which you will need to collect nine pieces of a mysterious artifact over the course of the season. It's the arrival of Loba and her vendetta that will push all the Legends into this new endeavour.
Here are the steps you'll need to follow to complete this brand new quest:
- Collect Daily Treasure Packs in competitive matches (Duos, Trios, Limited-Time Modes and Ranked) of Apex Legends — max one per day — to unlock Rewards and new Hunts for the missing pieces.
- Go on Weekly Hunts into Kings Canyon at Night to retrieve pieces of the artifact. Brave the dangers solo or with your squad and make it back alive. While you can always join in on Hunts, you’ll only get the Rewards if you’ve unlocked the mission yourself.
- Succeed in each hunt to earn more Rewards and unlock serial chapters that tell the Story of "The Broken Ghost". What is this artifact, and why does everybody from the Apex Legends to Hammond Robotics want to get their hands on it?
- Recover all nine pieces of the relic to unlock even more rewards, dive into the past, and uncover a secret that the Outlands might not be ready for.
Ranked Series 4
Ranked Series Splits
Respawn has decided not to make any changes to the ranked split system. As with Season 3, maps will change around midway through the Series — starting with King’s Canyon, then moving to World’s Edge on June 23.
Loss Forgiveness
New information has come to light regarding Loss Forgiveness. Players were wondering how to see if they were eligible so here are the options:
- "Leave match?" → You are free to leave.
- "Abandoning your squad may trigger a delay in matchmacking. Really leave?" → You will get an abandon penalty.
- "You can still be respawned by your teammates! Leaving now may result in penalties. Really leave?" → You will get an abandon penalty.
Reconnect
"We’re happy to announce that reconnect is coming in Season 5. If you get disconnected due to internet weather, a quick brownout, or a crash in the game, you can now just restart and if the session is still ongoing you will reload right back into the session. We hope this helps get you back in the game quickly and easily to keep earning that RP. Expect more details in the final patch notes."
Kings Canyon
Parts of Kings Canyon have sunk, while dangerous new areas rise in their stead. Skull Town seems to have fallen and you'll have to enter the Apex Games to discover all the other new features that the map is hiding.
Although Apex Legends' new character, Revenant, has just landed in World's Edge, the next character may have already been teased by Respawn.
