Season 9 is arriving to Apex Legends and it comes with a bunch of exciting new features. Apart from the upcoming new Legend, Valkyrie, Respawn Entertainment has shown the "Arena Mode", a completely different experience from the Battle Royale one.
In this new "permanent" mode, three players will fight against another three in "custom tailored" maps. Before the match begins, there will be a "spawn-area" in which each user will be able to buy their equipment from a store. In order to buy them, every player will get some amount of material at the beginning of each round. An amount that will depend on the round's performance. Also, it's worth mentioning that the gear you buy is only available for that specific round.
Regarding other details about the mode, weapons can be upgraded with the same currency you use to buy them. During battles, you can find material canisters and a single airdrop containing three weapons somewhere in the map. But beware, because this will be high risk situations and, while your mates can be revived, they can't be respawned like in the original mode.
The video also shows a bit of gameplay about Valkyrie, who can shoot missiles and use her equipment to fly or even let their squadmates gain "some altitude".
Finally, the new weapon called Bocek Compound Bow has been showcased. It's a versatile bow that is normally used as a long range one-shot weapon, but it can be modified to shoot arrows faster or even shoot many of them at the same time, like if it were a shotgun.
Don't forget that Apex Legend's Season 9 will arrive on May 4.
