According to reliable Call of Duty esports leaker CDL Intel, players from numerous Call of Duty League franchises had a meeting with the league to discuss the possibility of Domination being removed from CoD esports.
This will be music to the ears to many players and viewers who have expressed their thoughts of Domination being the worst competitive game mode in the history of the esport after it featured during the Call of Duty: Ghosts season back in 2014.
Will it be removed?
Considering the fact that the season is now at the halfway stage, it would be a strange decision to remove Domination for the second half of the season.
If the league does decide to remove it, will it be Hardpoint and Search & Destroy only? With some players testing Capture the Flag earlier in the year and the vast majority saying that the game mode would not work on the Modern Warfare maps, there is no other game mode that is viable to replace Domination so it will either stay for the remainder of the season or it is going to be Hardpoint and Search & Destroy only.
The one positive outcome of this is that it shows that the league are open to discussing its potential removal from competitive CoD. If the league was to remove it, it should have been much sooner rather than leaving it to the middle of the season.
