Ashraf Ismail, creative director on Assassin's Creed Valhalla, revealed that Ubisoft will introduce flyting - a duel of exchanging insults - in the gameplay of the upcoming title.
He explains that it was a common practise in mead halls, where Vikings used to gather to drink and feast together. Even Thor and Odin played the game as mentioned in the Hárbarðsljóð of the Poetic Edda.
We don't really know how this will fit into the gameplay or what we'll get out of it, but Ismail promises to tell us more soon. Let's just say we're pretty curious to see how Ubisoft manages to respect the historical line without offending anyone.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla has a release date of late 2020 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Stadia.
