Yesterday took place the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed conference by Ubisoft. The latter lingered on the special event, celebrating the anniversary of the fifteen years of the cult license. Other topics were also discussed, such as new content coming to Assassin's Creed Valhalla or the arrival of Assassin's Creed Origins in 60fps on next-gen consoles.
In order to end the evening in style, Ubisoft sent a message to its community, a few minutes after the end of the Assassin's Creed event. In this press release, the company announces a second meeting, next September. But then, what topics could be discussed there?
Many ongoing projects
It is true that the license is at the center of Ubisoft's concerns as many projects related to it are in progress. First, there would be the stand-alone Assassin's Creed Rift which some say is set in Baghdad. According to some rumors, the title would land at the end of the year and it is therefore possible that the appointment of September aims to set a release date.
It is quite possible that Ubisoft will give news of proven and ongoing projects. This is the case, for example, of the free content of Assassin's Creed Valhalla which will land this winter, or even of the virtual reality project Assassin's Creed . Again, Ubisoft could reveal specific release dates for these video game projects.
From the new Infinity side?
Remember, Infinity is a project presented by Ubisoft as the "Metaverse" of Assassin's Creed. We would therefore find each character, from each game, from Ezio (Assassin's Creed II, Brotherhood, Revelations) to Eivor (Valhalla), via Edward (Black Flag), and many others. It is not yet known how the characters and the universes will be linked together, perhaps will it be possible, through a single animus, to travel through the various games?
Yves Guillemot , current CEO of Ubisoft, had said of the production: "It will be a very innovative game while having what players already have in all Assassin's Creed games" . A return to basics all in innovation therefore, which players are impatiently awaiting, because the project promises something never seen before in the license.
The Ubisoft teams had also revealed that the future game would contain a lot of "narrative elements" . As you might expect, mixing so many eras can lead to a gargantuan plot.
Who knows ? Perhaps Ubisoft's September "rendezvous" will tackle the subject of Assassin's Creed Infinity and revive the hopes of those who have been waiting for it so long.
