As we already know, the releases of Modern Warfare and more recently Warzone, have been huge successes in terms of sales and the number of players. Warzone has usurped Apex Legends as the game with the highest number of downloads in 24 hours.

In various press releases from Activision Blizzard, the publisher has claimed that the Modern Warfare reboot has been a resounding success, claiming that the game has been the highest selling game in franchise history.

CoD Mobile has also proved extremely successful. Sensor Tower recently showed that the free-to-play game had  achieved 250 million downloads in its first eight months on the market, overtaking both PUBG Mobile and Fortnite.

Sensor Tower also unveiled that the mobile edition of Call of Duty had generated $327M in revenue due to the coronavirus pandemic.

CoD Mobile shows no signs of slowing down as Activision continues to launch monthly seasons filled with new content for players to get stuck into. As for the 2020 release for consoles, leaks and rumours are pointing towards a return to the Black Ops sub-franchise, a favourite among the community.

The pandemic has impacted the gaming landscape but Activision Blizzard continues to haul in the money.
