As the Call of Duty League season begins its final stretch before the season-ending CDL Championship, it appears that some brand-new cosmetics will be coming ahead of the final tournament of the Modern Warfare season.
Alongside the cosmetic bundle which contains blueprints for the M4A1 assault rifle, HDR sniper rifle and the M19 handgun and two weapon charms, there will be supporter packs releasing for each of the 12 franchise teams, containing player signatures, calling cards and sprays for players to use in-game.
Why is this a big deal?
In previous seasons, there has always been a lack of items for players to buy, meaning players have been unable to represent their favourite players and teams. Since 2016, things have improved and the reveal of these new items comes as somewhat of a surprise given Infinity Ward's lack of support of competitive CoD this season.
The addition of player signatures is a big step forward for Call of Duty esports. Enabling fans to show their support for their favourite players has always been a heavily requested feature and for the first time ever, players will be able to do so.
This is likely a feature that will appear in the next instalment of the Call of Duty franchise, which is still slated for a 2020 release despite the current global situation.
