Over a year ago, EA confirmed that a mobile version of Apex Legends was coming. Players were waiting for some news about a release date. While we know that the Switch version will arrive this fall, mobile players will have to wait a little longer.
However, a number of job listings at Respawn Entertainment confirm that the development of the mobile version is a project that should certainly be released in 2021.
"We’re looking for a Senior Game Designer who will lead the design vision for one of our unannounced mobile games."
This announcement being in the Apex Legends session of their website, it's certain that this is for the mobile version of the battle royale.
In addition to this position, a senior technical analyst is also wanted in order to "work directly with the Apex Legends Mobile team and its partners to analyze and provide insights to make the game more fun for players."
Respawn seems to want to drastically improve their game since some of the positions to be filled are intended to focus on the main game and more precisely on new UI systems and MTX designs. Ranked, Stats and the Store should the be improved.
The monetization systems of the game — including in-game store, bundles, or microtransaction events — is also in the developers' focus. A Technical Designer (MTX) is also needed to "write code or script to improve the monetization aspects of the game, such as improving store menus, event structures, battle pass, and more."
Players can rest assured: the game should be undergoing some improvements in the coming months. It's almost mandatory when we know that the release of next-gen consoles is coming soon.
