John Hight, Executive Producer for World of Warcraft, broke the news in a statement released on Twitter last night. In it, he said the team were still 'in the process of determining the right new date to launch,' and that they feel it was the right decision.

Reaction to the news on social media was naturally mixed, with some praising the developers for taking extra time, and others disappointed the news came so close to launch.

For now, fans will just have to wait patiently, with Blizzard stressing that they are still targeting a 2020 launch for Shadowlands
