Due to the sheer number of patches for Modern Warfare and Warzone, the game quickly took over most of your hard drive whether it was a console or a PC. The largest game of 2020 was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare at 242GB, dethroning Red Dead Redemption 2 which weighs in at 150GB.
Console gamers could take advantage of a reduction in overall game size following a Season 5 update, but PC gamers were not yet able to take advantage of this feature. This issue has now been resolved. Infinity Ward announced that it is now possible to free up space by uninstalling packs to free up approximately 225 GB.
The system will likely be similar to the one we can already find on console, with a selection of the packs we want to uninstall. These packs most commonly affect Spec Ops, so if you've already completed the missions, feel free to uninstall them.
But if you want to play them again, nothing prevents you from reinstalling them very easily. This is a timely feature, as the beta of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is approximately 25.5 GB, so this is a feature that can do our machines good.
Unfortunately, only owners of the digital version of Modern Warfare on PS4 will be able to uninstall the campaign. This feature should be available for all platforms soon.
