Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a beautiful game with high graphic quality. The Xbox Series X seems to run it in 4K and 60 FPS without any frame rate drops thanks to an optimization patch.
Although Microsoft certainly chose to broadcast images where the game worked best, it wouldn't be surprising — given the architecture of the console — that the game is fairly consistent in these performances.
In terms of content, this video reminds us of the major innovations that this game will bring to the license. The first one is the management of the colony that you can decorate and which will play the role of a hub in which it will be possible to trade but also to plan your conquests.
The second feature presented is the raid functionality. It will be possible to attack coastal buildings by docking them in a drakkar. The player will be accompanied by his/her entire fleet to attack the guards of these places. These different raids will allow you to obtain equipment and resources.
The third part of the video focuses on fighting. Overall, the mechanics seem similar to those of Assassin's Creed Odyssey with the same ability system. Fighting in Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be much more brutal to emphasize the violent aspect of the Viking warriors. We can also see a boss fight, Cordelia, using powers, which once again asserts that mythology will remain very present in the game.
In terms of exploration, it remains similar to the previous game with a less important presence of navigation. The eagle that we used to have will be replaced by a raven — capable of revealing precious treasures.
On the infiltration side, Ubisoft has made a real return to its roots when it comes to discretion. It will once again be possible to hide among the crowd or sit on a bench to sow the seeds of enemies. Eagle's vision will also be present again and it will be possible to put on the assassin's hood to switch to discreet mode.
Finally, about the universe, it will be possible to visit various mythological worlds. In this video, we can see Eivor visiting Asgard after drinking a witch's potion.
Although players who pre-ordered the collector's edition of the game have only recently been able to access it, there are now only a few hours left for the rest of the players to find out if Assassin's Creed Valhalla will live up to its promises.
