With thousands of players attempting to get into New World, developer Amazon are having a bit of a torrid time adjusting to the demand.
Players are facing queues of thousands, and face waits of several hours just to get into the game. This isn't helped by an error seemingly appearing at random:
@mm_loginservices_TooManyRequestsException
This appeared to kick players from the queue entirely, but now that's been revealed as inaccurate.
New World Connection Error: Fix
Follow these steps to make sure you retain your place in the queue:
- When the error pops up, press OK to close the window.
- Do NOT press 'Play' to requeue, as that will send you to the back of the line.
- Just wait a few moments, doing nothing, and the queue dialog box should pop back up.
- Your place in the queue should be around the same as it was when the error happened.
New World has proved massively popular on launch, with more than 700,000 concurrent players at its peak.
The success is a first for Amazon Games, who have previously seen team-based shooter Crucible shuttered almost immediately after launch, and a Lord of the Rings title cancelled after a dispute with Tencent.
