While Call of Duty: Vanguard will be available on all consoles from November 5, PS5 players will benefit from new features, including DualSense controller specifics.
Vanguard gets DualSense-specific features
This indeed holds what is called haptic feedback at the level of its triggers, and this allows, for war games among others, a more intensive immersion. According to a post on the official PlayStation blog, Chris Fowler, senior engineer at Sledgehammer Games, explained that the Call of Duty: Vanguard weapon panel will allow players to feel resistance for every weapon — more or less different on the R2 key (shoot) during the combat phases. He also explains that weapon accessories will play a role in the different sensations provided by the controller via the L2 button.
On the other hand, when players get hit by enemies, the DualSense will respond in a way that delivers some vibrations. However, it will of course be possible to deactivate all these options.
Sledgehammer Games presents 4 operators
This little interview with PlayStation was also the opportunity for the studio to present 4 of its operators. If we had already met Kingsley and Polina through one of the trailers for Vanguard, this time we've got more in-depth introductions. From what we know, these two characters will not only be available for campaign mode, but also for multiplayer mode.
And after these 2 first ones, we finally discovered two other characters who will be exclusively available for multiplayer : Daniel Take Yatsu and Padmavati Balan. In the presentation video, Daniel Take Yatsu appears to be a die-hard sniper, and the word that best describes him is almost certainly "precision". As for Padmavati Balan, she seems to take a much more direct approach and does not hesitate to go into contact with enemies, armed with a shotgun.
