Today's maintenance on the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store added new items to the list but also started a big sale on some of the most wanted items before an expansion for some players: character boosts.
The character boosts are always practical when you want to start a second character but are not really something I'd recommend when you start the game for the first time as the game's story helps a lot learning the mechanics and systems.
There are three kinds of boosts in FFXIV:
- Story Skips
- Job Books
- Retainer boosts
The story skips is pretty easy to understand but it's important to remember that the currently available job boost books only get your character to level 70 for the selected class and provide the corresponding gear. You'll have to wait a few patchs before getting the level 80 skip books.
The retainer boosts work the same way, but only for your retainers.
These two types of skips are currently on sale and will stay at a 50% reduced price until Friday, November 19 at 12:00am (PST)
On the other hand, three new items made it to the store and will propably will be the last additions before the release of the next expansion.
FFXIV New Optional Orchestrions
The three new orchestrions are:
- "On Westerly Winds" (Piano Collections)
- "Serenity" (Piano Collections)
- " To the Sun" (Piano Collections)
There three songs are available all the time but are not concerned by the Sale.
Will you prepare a second character and buy some boosts before Endwalker's release this November?
Many changes are to be expected with Endwalker, both with the classes and the already existing features. The new eight-player raid tier "Pandemonium" will also be introduced with the expansion.
While waiting for the release of this major game update which will introduce the new Reaper and Sage classes, you can take advantage of our many guides on the content already available here.
Our portal will also be updated as soon as possible with the latest information on Endwalker ahead of its release and plenty of content starting November 19th.
