Summer is coming to Teyvat with the next update bringing Genshin Impact to version 2.8. This new update offers you a multitude of content to do as we saw in the live presentation, but the patch note gives more precise details on certain elements to which we return.
Genshin Impact 2.8: "A Midsummer Night's Dream" Update Date and Maintenance
The new update that is coming is called "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and as the name suggests, it comes to bring summer for the second time to the world of Teyvat, but for that you will have to wait a few days.

Update 2.8 date : Wednesday, July 13 at 5:00 a.m.
As with every new patch, there will be a maintenance before it. It will take place on July 13 from midnight to 5 a.m. and will allow you to obtain your usual 300 primo-gems.
Genshin Imapct 2.8: How to access the update?
You probably suspect it, but it will not be possible to enjoy this content by creating an account directly when it is released. You will have to play until you meet the prerequisites below.
- Have an adventure level greater than or equal to 32
- Complete Archons Chapter II - Prologue Quest "Autumn Wind and Crimson Leaves"
- Complete Mona's story quest, Astrolabos - Act 1 "Beyond the Starry Sky"
What does Genshin Impact version 2.8 contain?
After seeing the information needed to enjoy the content, it's time to talk about what's in store for you. First, let's go back to the new hero that will be added. This is a 4-star rarity Anemo character whose name is Heizou and the latter has the particularity of being a melee fighter while he uses a catalyst . It is therefore the first of its kind within Genshin Impact.
In addition to a new hero, we will have the right to a new weapon, but it will not be a catalyst. And yes, if you think you have a catalyst for Heizou, you're missing out since the new weapon will be a one-handed sword that will be tied to the story of version 2.8. - Rarity : 4 stars
- Basic attack at level 90 : 510
- Secondary Stat: ATK % (41.3% at max level)
- Effect : When a normal, charged or diving attack hits an enemy, it triggers a gust of Mistral, dealing area damage equal to 180% of the attack. The attack also increases by 15% for 8 seconds and the effect is only activated once every 8 seconds.

Genshin Impact Update 2.8 Banners and Wishes
Since this version does not introduce new characters of 5 star rarity, it will therefore be necessary to be satisfied with reruns. To begin, it is Klee and Kazuha who will be honoured. To accompany them, you find three characters of 4-star rarity.

A rather interesting composition that can be based on the Pyro element , but can also have a strong interest in exploration with characters like Heizou and Kazuha which reduce sprint consumption, Ningguang which is useful for products from Liyue and minerals and Thomas who will be used for fishing in Inazuma.

Divine Incarnation Wishes will also be available and these will highlight Kazuha's weapon and a catalyst that may be suitable for banner characters. In addition, you will be able to get 4 star rarity weapons which are also featured.

Summer stay by the sea
In the event " Summer Stay at the Sea " located on the Archipelago of the Golden Apple, you can do the quests " Wave Breaker" and "Ghost Realms" to obtain a whole bunch of rewards such as primo gems, Hero Lessons or Mystical Enhancement Ores. To obtain Fischl and a Crown of Wisdom, you will have to complete challenges in order to acquire pearly shells.
The event will start on July 15 at 10 a.m. and will end when the 2.8 update ends. As for the conditions to participate, you can find them below.

Resonating Visions
The " Resonating Visions " event allows you to obtain the outfit for Fischl "Dream of Eternal Night" and primo-gems. To do this, you will need to obtain illusory conches by wandering around the islands of the Golden Apple archipelago.
- Duration of the event : from July 15 at 10 a.m. and will end at the end of the 2.8 update.

secret conflict
The "Secret Conflict" event will allow you to discover part of Diluc's past related to the skin that is available in the store with the new version. By participating, you will be able to obtain primo-gems, but also weapon elevation materials.
- Duration of the event : from July 27 at 10 a.m. to August 15, 2022 at 3:59 a.m.
Requirements to participate : AR 25 or higher and have completed the Diluc story quest 'Noctua - Act 1: Alibi of the Night's Hero' and the Archon quest Prologue - Act 3 "Song of the Dragon and Freedom"
Other additions and optimizations of version 2.8

Now, let's find out the optimizations that are worth noting with the list below.
- Decreased the ATK of the following monsters in world levels 3 to 6: "Nobushi - Jintouban", "Nobushi - Hitsukeban", "Nobushi - Kikouban", "Sea Oni - Fire Threat", "Sea Oni - Lightning Dance” and “Spectre”;
- Optimized Rifthound behavior when receiving attacks;
- Adjusted the behavior of Ghosts when attacked and thrown into the air;
- Decreased HP and RES when interrupting Specters, increased the percentage of HP needed to reach maximum fury;
- Adjusted the logic of Ghosts that can be affected by the pull effect in their expansion state.
- When you pick up loot, its icon will also indicate the number of accumulations if it is greater than 1;
- Optimized artifact attribute filters to prioritize those whose main attribute is the filtered one;
- Changed “Guides” in the Paimon menu to “Release Highlights”;
- Fixed a key conflict in the "Character Choice" interface in gamepad mode: in this interface, the button to collect affinity rewards will be hidden and the corresponding functionality of the L3 button will be filtered;
- In gamepad mode, the buy button and buy functionality will be blocked for items that cannot be purchased or traded in the event store.
