Available since November 18, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet has already caused a lot of ink to flow, and not only for the good, unfortunately. If the players have pointed out the lack of finishes, especially with regard to the graphics of the latter and all the bugs they present, others have nevertheless discovered a technique to go faster in the game: use two Joy -Cons connected !
Go faster and faster in Pokémon Violet & Scarlet!
It is indeed on social networks that this new technique has been talked about! While we see through a video clip posted on Twitter a piece of Pokémon Scarlet Violet gameplay, the player character suddenly starts running much faster , but we don't really know why. It is only afterwards, with a replay that we understand the reason for this speed boost: the player uses not one but two left Joy-Cons connected to the Switch .
Indeed, we see very clearly that when the latter moves the joystick of the second left Joy-Con, the character then starts to run much faster. And our colleagues at Numerama wanted to try the experiment with a Switch OLED, and yes, this technique does work, but the fast run only really takes effect when the character runs diagonally .
If this technique can be effective, it is no less expensive since it still requires to be in possession of two pairs of Joy-Cons. And at 80 euros a pair, it's a bit expensive the little trick.
Speed boost soon fixed?
Following the publication of this video, many players naturally wondered whether this manipulation was voluntary or not on the part of the developers, but it is obviously not wanted. On the bluebird social network, the user by the name of Oshamoff explained why this happened and why it only worked when the character ran diagonally . And according to her and according to her explanation, this phenomenon takes place because the developers " forgot to take into account the soft limit for the maximum speed of the character, allowing us to reach the angles of the square ".
In addition, some have tried the experiment with Pokémon, and it does not work, which proves that it is indeed an oversight of the developers which will then most certainly be corrected in the days to come.
