This latest installment from Game Freak immerses players in the fabulous world of Paldea. Pokémon Scarlet/Violet marks a turning point in the Pokémon license with a quasi-open world that allows budding trainers to explore it as they wish on the back of Koraidon/Miraidon. On top of that, players won't be bored with a total of three main quests that they will need to complete in order to unravel the mystery of Zone Zero.
As you will have understood, the life expectancy of video game production is rather substantial and to finish the game, you have to hang on. However, as with every successful video game, speedruns on Pokémon Scarlet/Purple have already been made. The record title is totally shocking!
Finish Pokémon Scarlet/Purple in less than 5h30?
It is possible and it is the Youtuber/streamer Twitch Truely who proved it by performing the latest opus of the license in 5 hours and 27 minutes! A surprising record that obviously includes completing the three main quests: finishing the league, helping Pepper gather the secret spices and disbanding Team Star. In addition to that of course, the speedrun ends with the exploration of Zone Zero and therefore the fight against Miraidon/Koraidon.
Truely therefore ranks first in the Pokémon Scarlet/Violet category of Speedrun.com , the most popular site in the discipline. He is closely followed by halqery who finished the game in 5:30 and by Shenanagans with an exceptional time of 5:33 . One thing is certain, the records are not about to stop!
Flameroll in main Pokémon?
After choosing Chochodile as a starter, the speedrunner quickly used Flamewind (the Fighting and Flying type flamingo) as the primary Pokémon in his battles. It almost only uses this Pokémon for the entire run, with a few exceptions. Flamewind has already proven to be very popular for its powerful attacks and speed stats, but this shows that it is much more powerful than players thought. The top three records on Speedrun.com all focus on using this brand new Pokemon to advance quickly through the game.
Here is something to give ideas to those wishing to embark on the speedrun on Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Be careful though, there is already competition and the streamer Truely does not seem ready to stop anytime soon! Will we soon be entitled to speedruns below the 5 hour mark?
