Released on November 18, the new Pokémon Scarlet and Purple with Open World ambitions developed by Game Freak seem to have missed the mark, or so the ratings seem to say.
The worst Pokemon games in history
While the ratings were already relatively low in media reviews with 77/100, the arrival of player ratings did not really help the license. With an average of around 3/10 Pokémon Scarlet and Purple therefore seems to be the worst main series Pokémon ever released.
A blatant majority of very low marks for Game Freak's new game, while most satisfied players insist that the gameplay and ideas are among the best in the license.
We can therefore wonder why a game at first glance full of good intentions would end up so low in the rankings, especially given the hype surrounding its release.
A review bombing for the new Pokémon?
The cause of these negative ratings seems for the most part to be related to the game's performance and the numerous bugs encountered.
Notes which therefore reflect the annoyance of the players more than the title itself. The game is indeed full of good ideas, for some even the best of the license when it comes to history, mechanics or overall functioning.
The real problem of this title, and we do not repeat it anymore, is that all these good points are very quickly caught up by the missing finishes and the heavy technical problems. The community therefore embarked on a crusade to make Nintendo understand their mistake, subjecting the title to a hell of a review bombing (sending bad reviews en masse).
However, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is not the first game to suffer this kind of situation, we think in particular of No Man's Sky or Cyberpunk which too, despite having been full of good intentions and now being very successful, had been a victim. of this kind of bombing for performances that left you wanting or too many bugs.
This therefore means that nothing is being done for this Pokémon and that a quick reaction from Game Freak to correct the most important problems could well raise the reputation of the title from its ashes.
