In Pokémon Scarlet/Purple, there are 400 Pokémon and many different ways to evolve some of them, sometimes not very obvious to find. Specific evolution stones, trading with other players or simply reaching a required level, the methods differ depending on the Pokémon in question. But those that interest us today evolve in another way: they must take at least 1,000 steps at your side before being able to change form.
Ahead !
In order to evolve, three Pokémon in the game require you to walk 1,000 steps alongside you. This is the case of Virovent, Pohmotte and Léboulérou, which need a short hike to evolve into Virevorreur, Pohmarmotte and Bérasca respectively.
To do this, you must use the command "Forward!" using the R trigger on your console to pull your Pokémon out of its pokéball and let it walk alongside you. Strolling around town for ice cream or outdoor battles, whatever the excuse as long as your Pokemon is walking beside you, it works. Well, it's true that 1,000 steps can sometimes seem long... but a pretty clever technique exists to make your job easier if you're not very good at walking with your Pokémon!
Watch out for spin
In this video, we can see the player take out his Pohmotte using the command "Forward!" then then climb on the roof of a Pokémon center. Except that instead of little Pohmotte joining him on the roof, he starts doing endless walks. It turns out that these steps count for the 1,000 required for its evolution, and thus allows you to become multi-tasking in real life while waiting for your Pokémon to increase its counter. Once the 1,000 steps are reached, he can evolve following the next battle, if he remains alive. Practice !
