Bahamut — Battle Intel Report 20

Given the magnitude of Bahamut in Final Fantasy lore, it's only natural the dragon king would be a special, extra reward for completing something big.

In order to unlock the final VR battle Chadley offers, you'll have to master all the other Battle Intel Reports first — and some of them are a grind!

Only then will you have the privilege of taking on one of the toughest fights you'll face in Final Fantasy VII Remake!

Bahamut — Boss Fight Strategy

The King of the Dragons is no pushover, sou really need to prepare well before attempting to take him on.

Firstly, it's recommended that you have Revival Earrings equipped. Bahamut's signature attack, Megaflare, will very likely wipe your team out, so having a second chance is almost mandatory.

Secondly, your designated healer must have the Healing Materia + Magnify Materia combination. Bahamut emits a kind of aura that constantly damages your team, so Regen will help counter that. Chances are, your healer is going to be busy.

Finally, anything that boosts the ATB gauge will be beneficial. This can be the Haste spell, ATB Boost, First Strike, or ATB Assist Materia. Every little will help when it's time to heal up or give it all you have.

Taking on a Legend

In the fight itself, you're going to have to be patient as you probably won't get many opportunities to attack. Trying to wail on him will just result in you being knocked back, and the Dragon King attacks relentlessly anyway.

Here, Cloud's Counterstance weapon ability (from the Twin Stinger) is, for lack of a better word, a godsend. It will help you damage Bahamut without compromising your defensive stance. This is especially true for when Bahamut unleashes Divebomb.

Watch out for Umbral Gaze too, as this will inflict the Stop status. Have someone at hand to cast Esuna or use an item to remove it — you can't afford to be without party members, even temporarily.

You'll also want to quickly switch to another character when Bahamut unleashes Umbral Strikes. You can't avoid it, and there's no use in going a period of time without someone wailing on the dragon.

Finally, when you see Bahamut ready Countdown, this is your time to shine. Give it everything you've got at this point — Abilities, Limit Breaks, all of it. If you're lucky and deal enough damage, Bahamut won't use the party-killer, **Megaflare.

**If he does, you can expect upwards of 8,000 damage to all party members — most likely a wipe. This is where the Revive Earrings come in. Heal up, and do it all again until the Dragon King goes down for good.

Remember, patience is the key in this battle. Good luck!
