Fortnite update 12.00 — which launched Season 2 — brought us something new. The map is now swarming with acolytes, aggressive NPCs summoned to defend secret bases. To find them, you have to go near their secret tunnels. These are passageways, hidden inside public restrooms. Sometimes the henchmen are outside on guard duty and are, in greater numbers, in the secret bases at the end of the secret tunnels.
The locations where you'll find them for sure are The Agency, The Shark, The Rig, The Grotto, and The Yacht.
How to use them?
Henchmen are veritable human gold mines. Use them in different ways.
Kill them
Simply put. Once dead, an henchman will give you his equipment — which is often of good quality.
Shake 'em up
Strange as it may seem, once a sidekick is down, you get a chance to shake him. The henchman will give you a map that will scan the area around you, revealing the position of chests and enemies in the vicinity, for a short time.
Impersonating them
In some of the agency's bases, you'll have access to a new type of chest. Larger and grey, they contain a large quantity of qualitative items. When you have put a sidekick on the ground, carry it with the corresponding key and bring it closer to the famous chests. Press your key to search: a scanner will be activated, giving access to the precious loot.
In short, henchmen are of great use if you want to find great equipment quickly. Be careful though — even if they aren't experts in aiming — because of their number, they can quickly put you in trouble, especially if you don't have a shield.
