In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, one of your main goals will be to make your desert island attractive enough to bring in the star of the stage: K.K Slider.
In our complete walkthrough, you'll find all the steps you need to reach this goal, but we also reveal how to unlock this special character in this guide.
Resident Services becomes the Town Hall
Once your Resident Services has transformed into a Town Hall, you will then be able to welcome Isabelle to you island and take advantage of several new features.
Tom Nook will then tell you about Project K: Bringing K.K. Slider to your island.
To achieve this goal, the tanuki will ask you to help him:
- Build a Campsite
- Bring several inhabitants to your island
- Decorate the island to make it attractive
Once the campsite is built, your role will be to bring in as many people as possible (you can have up to 10 neighbours at the same time).
To do this, you will have to build plots at 10,000 Bells per plot.
Is the perfect island needed to unlock K.K.?
Once the ten neighbours are settled on your island, you can regularly ask Isabelle for "the reputation of the island". You need a score of three stars to unlock have K.K. arrive!
This means there's no need to have the perfect island (although this will get you the golden watering can).
To obtain a score of three stars, here are some tips:
- Get all ten inhabitants to come to the ten fields,
- Build the Campsite
- Have at least four large objects on your island (for example the lighthouse, swimming pool, outdoor bath): you can buy them at the Nook Stop.
- Plant about fifty flowers on the island
- Pull all the weeds
- Install about twenty pieces of outdoor furniture all over the island.
Isabelle will always give you good advice when you ask her for the reputation of the island, so don't hesitate to do that so you know where you stand!
Once the three-star rating has been reached, Isabelle will read a positive comment from K.K., and Project K will finally be a success!
By logging into the game the next day, you will be able to watch a recording of the previous day's concert.
Note that this will also unlock Terraforming mode.
Attend K.K. Slider concerts
From now on, K.K. Slider will come to the main square of your island at 8pm every Saturday night to give a concert.
