Chapter 3 of Final Fantasy VII Remake brings you to the game's first hub, where you can talk to NPCs, take on sidequests and gain plenty of new Materia and items to help you on your journey.
Sidequests
Your first missions as a mercenary for hire will consist of low-level tasks for the residents of Sector 7. Completing these six missions will give you access to a secondary story involving Tifa. You'll also be able to begin Chadley's Battle Intel Reports for great rewards.
Chests and Materia
Exceptionally, the contents of the safes are not provided at the moment. But don't worry, these are only small consumables, you won't miss much.
- Chest 1: You'll find this where you'll fight the Doomrats for the Rat Problem sidequest. Contains 3 Grenades.
- Chest 2: This one is found in the Beginner's Hall, where you speak to Biggs and Wedge. Contains an Ether.
- Chest 3: To the right of Seventh Heaven. Contains 2 Hi-Potions.
- Chest 4: At the far end of Scrap Boulevard, you can't miss it. Contains 2 Antidotes.
- Chest 5: West of the factory's first warehouse, you'll find this by a locked gate. Contains 2 Antidotes.
- Chest 6: Also in the factory, this chest can be found in the third warehouse, where you fight the first Lesser Drake. Use the switch to the right of the door on the south wall. Contains 2 Sedatives.
- Materia 1: Head to Scrap Boulevard. You will find the Ice Materia in the tunnel.
- Materia 2: In the factory while hunting down the Cerulean Drake, you'll find the Fire Materia near the vending machine and bench.
Music Discs
- 3. Tifa's Theme can be obtained by interacting with the jukebox inside Seventh Heaven.
- 1. The Prelude can be bought from the Item Shop.
- 27. Hip Hop de Chocobo can be purchased from a man in the far north of the Slums. He's standing next to a gramophone.
- If you head back towards the Station, you'll be able to purchase 4. Barret's Theme from a foodtruck.

Other Notable Items
- When agreeing to help Jessie, you'll be given the Ifrit Materia.
- Once Scrap Boulevard is clear, you can pick up the Iron Blade Sword from the Weapon Shop.
- If you can top the darts minigame leaderboard, Wedge will give you a Luck Up Materia later.
- You can buy Ice Materia and Lightning Materia from the Item Shop.
- Following the conversation with Tifa about outfits, Marle will give you a Crescent Moon Charm accessory.
- Speaking to Chadley for the first time will grant you the all-important Assess Materia. You can now take on Battle Intel Reports.
Katie can be found on the balcony next to Chadley, next to a giant scoreboard. She will reward you with items depending on how many creatures you have killed in Sector 7. There are three levels of reward:
- 10 Enemies: 5 Potions
- 20 Enemies: Revival Earrings
- 50 Enemies: MP Up Materia
You can clear Scrap Boulevard as many times as you like to achieve this — simply exit and then head back inside.
