After tolerating questionable ghost pranks, you'll need to defeat a mini boss in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Ghoul is much easier than Abzu and the Hell House, but it does have a few special features. To face him, you have Cloud's favourite team, Tifa and Aerith.

Preparations & materials

  • A bench and a vending machine will allow you to rest in a room a little before the boss.x
  • As with other ghosts, the weakness of Ghoul is Fire . We advise you to equip a Fire Materia for each member of the group. This will give you an easy option to deal critical damage to it and fill up its stagger bar.
  • Having one or more group members equip Healing Materia is also highly recommended.

Boss skills

  • Telekinesis: All the furniture in the room will fly away, swirl and then form a new configuration, which will prevent you from reaching him in melee combat.
  • Piercing Scream: A fairly painful area technique, the nearby characters will be paralyzed by fear for a while. When he launches this technique, move away. If your character is frightened, take control of another member of the group, typically Aerith who is at a distance and not as exposed.

Combat

  • The boss will regularly move through the furniture labyrinth and reposition, while sending energy attacks or melee attacks. It has 2 forms, the first is the normal one, during which its appearance is solid: you can inflict damage whit physical attacks. After having suffered enough damage, it change ito its ghostly form, which will make it semi-transparent. You must then use spells, preferably fire.
  • Cloud is the most suitable character to damage it in its normal form. When he changes phase, use Aerith with the Arcane Wand to send a high-level Fire spell. It will then quickly return to normal phase.
  • You'll just have to alternate between the 2 phases by navigating between the furniture and moving away when it screams.
