The 1.2.0 update continues to bring a lot of events in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While Earth Day is still going on in the game, you can start enjoying another event today: May Day!
How do I get the May ticket?
To take advantage of the event, you can get a free ticket!
- Go to the Residents' Office
- Talk to Tom Nook: he will give you the May 1st ticket (be careful, it doesn't appear in your pockets, it's normal)
- Go to the airport to use your ticket May 1 - Orville will tell you about this famous getaway
- Select "I want to travel" then "Use the May 1st ticket"
Please note, it's only possible to obtain one single ticket for the entire duration of the event! This ticket is valid until May 7.
May 1st getaway: how does it work?
First, no baggage is accepted during this excursion. Rest assured, your personal belongings will remain at the airport and you can collect them after the trip.
The labyrinth
Your goal on this mysterious island? Find the way out of the labyrinth! The difficulty is that you will have nothing in your pockets and that you will have to be smart to pick up and craft useful items in order to get out of the maze.
If you are stuck, you can call the Help Service (application on the Nookphone) to get out of the labyrinth and start again.
The first thing you find on the island is a shovel. Pick it up and use it to dig up any bushes you see! This will allow you to unlock new passages and even find some treasures (bell tickets for example). If you find fruits, keep them preciously because, by eating them, they will allow you to dig up trees!
A little further, you will also find a blunt axe: beware, it can only cut one tree so... choose it well! Preferably, you must cut a tree that hides fruit behind it. These will allow you to remove other trees or break the rocks that block your path.
Tip: no need to dig up tree stumps. Sit on it and turn in the direction you want to go. This will not wear out your shovel too much.
Your next step will be to find the workbench. In case, the game will give you the craft plans of the axe and the flimsy axe if you don't know them. Thanks to the workbench, take the opportunity to craft an ax. By browsing the accessible places, you will find everything you need (5 branches of trees, wood, iron, stone).
Once the axe is made, you can finally cut all the trees and free yourself a passage until the exit.
Attention, it's important to keep 3 fruits in your inventory, they will be useful to you at the end.
Rover the cat will wait for you at the end and offer you a Rover’s Briefcase an exclusive item. He seems to be saying that he will come back one day, perhaps to give us other items from the Rover Collection?
Either way, don't leave the island right away! A ton of bell tickets awaits you. Remember to dig up everything you see and go around the beach to access hidden corners. Besides, three rocks block the entrance to a corner with bell tickets. Eat 3 fruits and take your shovel to break them.
In total, you will therefore leave with 9 bell tickets, or 27,000 bells.
Once you have recovered all you can on the island, speak to Wilbur to return home. Please note, the bell tickets obtained and the Rover’s Briefcase will be sent directly by mail (this is normal if you can no longer find them in your inventory).
