Ghost of Tsushima: Shrines & Charms

One of the ways to upgrade Jin's abilities in Ghost of Tsushima will be to get your hands on Omamori charms in order to activate passive bonuses. Here's what we know about them.

The Omamori Charms are items that can be equipped in dedicated locations in Ghost of Tsushima. They offer different passive bonuses that will help you in combat.

We don't know the exact way to obtain the charms, but they are probably treated as normal items which can be found in the world, bought from merchants, or given by NPCs.

Charms

There are at least 4 types of talismans: defensive, stealth, utility and offensive. Here are some of the powers already revealed, there is no doubt that there are many more:

  • Charm of Okuninushi: Slowly restores health while out of combat.
  • Charm of Toxic Demise: Wind chimes release poisonous fumes when picked up by an enemy.
  • Charm of Unseen Respite: Smoke bombs restore 25% of your health.

We'll be sure to tell you how to get the best talismans when the time comes. For now, we already know that you have a limited number of locations that will allow you to equip the Charms. This will require finding special shrines.

Shrines

During your exploration of the island of Tsushima, you will sometimes come across foxes who will guide you to hidden places called Inari Shrines. By honoring enough Shrines, you will unlock additional slots for Charms.

We don't know at the moment if there are several types of Shrines.
