Only four characters a year are released in Apex Legends, so each time it's an event. Rampart's presentation on Youtube garnered more than a million views just hours after its release, proving that Apex still has a vibrant community.

What about Rampart? She's a defensive Legend who can create protective zones for her team by placing energy shields on the ground and then deter opposing squads from approaching by installing a minigun turret in the middle of her defences. She also has a special affinity with machine guns, which she seems to use more effectively than other characters.

Abilities

Amped Cover

Tactical

Build a crouch-cover wall, which deploys a full-cover amped wall that blocks incoming shots and amps outgoing shots.

Modded Loader

Passive

Increased magazine/heat capacity and faster reloads/recharge when using LMGs and the Minigun.

Emplaced Minigun "Sheila"

Ultimate

Place a mounted machine gun that anyone can use. High ammo capacity, long reload time.

Her best ally

Watson: There's nothing like a well-lobed grenade to destroy a fortified position in one fell swoop. Rampart can't place her shields over her head, and she can't let go of her position, so like any static character, explosives are her great weakness. There is a legend that stops all projectiles in their tracks! It's Watson, and if she puts her ultimate in the middle of Rampart's shields, the position becomes even more impregnable.

Her worst enemy

Crypto: Whether it's the energy shields, the minigun turret or a possible Watson Ultimate added on top, all these defenses can be disabled with a simple Drone EMP. If you're positioning yourself somewhere with Rampart, remember to keep an eye on the sky and shoot down any drone that gets a little too close without delay.
