Honey is the base ingredient in a variety of mead bases in Valheim, so producing your own will put you at an advantage. Read on to find out how to find beehives, and craft your own for a plentiful supply of honey!
Where to Find Beehives
Beehives can be found in abandoned buildings throughout the Meadows, Black Forest and the Swamp. Getting too close to the hives will result in the bees swarming, so we recommend using a bow and arrow to destroy them.
Once destroyed you’ll get honey, and possible a Queen Bee – and she’s the one you need to craft your own. Not every building will contain a beehive, and not every hive will drop a Queen Bee, so this can be an arduous process.
How to Craft a Beehive
To craft your own Beehive you’ll need the following:
- 1 x Workbench
- 10 x Wood
- 1 x Queen Bee
After crafting your Beehive, we recommend placing it in a fenced area, since creatures like Greydwarfs are attracted to them. If you have multiple hives, make sure there’s enough space between them to keep the bees happy.
