With Warzone developer Raven Software intending on making changes to weapons that are at the top of the Season 3 metagame, players are already beginning to think ahead and look at weapons that will be viable options when the nerfs are implemented.

One of the weapons is the GRAU 5.56 assault rifle, a weapon that once dominated Warzone during the latter seasons of the Modern Warfare era and it's clear to see why some are already making the switch.

Armed with low levels of recoil and minimal damage drop-off, the GRAU 5.56 excels in the majority of mid-range and long-distance duels, and with the right combination of attachments equipped, it's arguably one of the most versatile weapons in the battle royale.

Here's the best loadout to use.

Warzone GRAU 5.56 Season 3 Loadout

  • Monolithic Suppressor (Muzzle)
  • Tempus 26.4" Archangel (Barrel)
  • VLK 3.0x Optic (Optic)
  • Commando Foregrip (Underbarrel)
  • 60 Round Mags (Ammunition)

This particular combination of attachments is designed for players to dominate at longer distances. The choice of suppressor and barrel provides significant increases to range and accuracy while the rest of the attachments manage recoil.

Mobility levels are not the focus of this build which is why it may feel sluggish when sprinting around the map.

The best way to use this GRAU build is by posting up inside a building or an area with plenty of cover and dealing with opposition from range.

Perks

  • EOD
  • Overkill
  • Amped

EOD provides an increase in explosive resistance, enabling players to stay in the heat of battle for longer periods even if grenades are landing in close proximity.

Overkill gives players the ability to equip two primary weapons in the same loadout, allowing an SMG and an AR to be used at the same time.

Amped increases weapon swap speed, allowing players to quickly switch between their primary and secondary weapons depending on the situation.
