Runes
A melee fighter with good base damage, Wukong is quite capable of playing aggressively in lane and winning trades in the early game. This build is aimed at that early game, allowing Wukong to get ahead, and Conqueror is a must for that.
Brutal adds to the level 1 advantage, while Adaptive Carapace offers survivability below 50% health
In blue, Hunter - Genie gives you valuable cooldown reduction.
Skills
Here is the optimal skill order. Max out the abilities as outlined in the graphic below, though make sure you rank up your ultimate whenever you can.
Note: It's better to start with Nimbus Strike at level 1, so you can begin trading right away.

We've put together a list of the most important items for Wukong, ranked by their effectiveness. Items in bold are must-have items that you'll opt for in most, if not all, of your matches on this champion.
Tips & Tricks
- Wukong is more like a duelist in the early game, suited to 1v1 trades, but becomes a hard engager in the late game thanks to his ultimate, Cyclone. Learning to flank well is a must.
- The Golden Staff passive grants you additional range on your next auto attack after using a skill. In the laning phase, this passive is key to winning poke trades.
- Warrior Trickster is a very useful skill to use when trying to misdirect the enemy laner. More often than not, if played well, the enemy will chase your clone.
