From runes to items, gameplay tips amd more, we've put together a guide to help you master playing Lux in the midlane in League of Legends.
Be mindful that there are several ways to build and play a champion, and you'll need to be adaptable as the game and the enemy team progress.
That said, this guide is a good starting point to helping you get to grips with the champion and making an impact in your games.

Core Items
Build
Luden's Tempest is a given for Lux, thanks to its powerful Echo passive and burst damage capabilities.
Horizon Focus is also a regular pick, largely due to its excellent synergy with Lux's ultimate.
Other good choices include Zhonya's Hourglass, Shadowflame, and Mejai's Soulstealer.
Starting Item & Boots
Skill Order
While your choices may differ according to how the game progresses, the typical Lux skill priority is:
R > E > Q > W
Summoner Spells
These are the summoner spells most typically taken by Lux in this role. Naturally, this may change depending on match-ups.
Gameplay
Lux is all about control and damage. Her Q and E are excellent zoning tools, while her ultimate is devastating. Be careful though, it's easy to lock down this glass cannon of a midlaner.
- Level 1 - Take E - Lucent Singularity, for the zoning potential and AoE damage ontop minions.
- Level 2 - Take Q - Light Binding, for the stun.
- First Back - Start building your Luden's Tempest by picking up a Lost Chaper. It will restore mana on each level up, too.
Tips & Tricks
- Playing around Lux's passive, Illumination, is key to dealing maximum damage.
- Light Binding can stun two targets, so try to work your angles for best effect.
- Use Lucent Singularity to slow a target, making it easier to land Light Binding.
- Remember that Prismatic Barrier applies twice, once on the way out, and once on the way back. Use it to mitigate damage from an enemy.
- Prismatic Barrier also tends to be a pretty good 'bait' move, for when enemy champions expect a Light Binding.
- Use Final Spark in narrow channels to hit as many champions as possible.
- Use Light Binding to freeze the first two minions in a wave, so they bunch up and can be cleared more easily with Lucent Singularity.
