Going up against multiple gargoyles has become something of a rite of passage in the Souls games. It's not Elden Ring that will put an end to this custom, quite the contrary, with 2 gargoyles much more painful than in the previous games.

Where are the Valiant Gargoyles?

The first step is to kill Radahn, then descend into the crater formed by the resulting meteor. Said crater awaits you in front of Kenneth Haight. It will allow you to explore the eternal city, in order to help Ranni and Blaidd. After facing the boss, you will reach a green area. Continue more or less straight, to reach the Aqueduct the boss is at the bottom of the area.

Preparations

  • A good summoning spirit is surely what will make the fight the most easier. Being shorthanded is a big problem in this game. By going to explore the other part of Nokron, you can get the very powerful Mimic Tear as a spirit.
  • The damage is mainly physical in this fight, plan armor and talismans that favor this type of defense.
  • You can craft and use consumables that increase resistance. Using a coating for your weapon will also help you defeat the boss faster. Also providing poison balls and the tear of healing over time for the Vial of Miraculous Salvation can greatly help to survive.
  • Prefer magic damage, or lightning on this fight.

Phase 1: Valiant Gargoyle

  • The start of the fight is not too difficult. The gargoyle is a dangerous opponent, but with a little practice, it is quite easy to dodge its blows. As with the majority of giant enemies, going between his legs to attack his ankles in melee is the safest option . The only exception to this rule is when the boss starts vomiting poison on the ground, you have to get away quickly.
  • Pay attention to the weapon used by the gargoyle, it will change from time to time. Ax swings are much wider and more dangerous, but they're also much less likely to hit you if you stick to the boss's legs.

Stage 2: Double Gargoyles

  • When the health of the first gargoyle reaches around 50%, the second gargoyle will enter. Ideally, you should aim to finish off your first opponent as quickly as possible, before being hindered by his colleague .
  • Concretely, the fight does not always take place in an optimal way, and the gargoyle with the double blade will sometimes charge at you too quickly, then it will refuse to let go of you, completely ignoring your summons (if any). If the first gargoyle has too much life left, you can switch targets, but it would be best to finish it off. For example, when the second minion calms down and the first goes on the offensive.
  • The 2nd minion is more dangerous and unpredictable, it loves to charge up a super attack and then whirlwind your position. It's better to walk away when she prepares it, then come back into melee afterwards.
  • The fight between the legs of the second gargoyle is more dangerous, since in addition to poisoned vomit, she will end up changing her weapon and pulling out a short ax. She can hit much closer with it, and sometimes even ram it into the ground before unleashing an earth blast. It's best not to over-commit with attack combos, and always be ready to get away.
