With the release of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga TT Games kept the traditions by making the entire campaign accessible in two-player co-op. Needless to say that it is much more fun to go trhough the adventure as a duo, even if the artificial intelligence does the job correctly and adapts according to the puzzle you want to solve. In this short guide we will see the different aspects of the co-op mode of this new saga made of bricks.

Split screen only

Yes, that's one of the little disappointments of this episode: the multiplayer of LEGO games has still not made the leap to online gaming. If you want to enjoy the 9 episodes of the Star Wars saga in brick version, you will therefore have to go to local cooperation 2. This is a legacy feature of LEGO games and you are strongly encouraged to play the game in this mode. To add a second player you just have to press start with a second controller.

How multiplayer works

There are a few quirks to note when going into split-screen with another player. First of all, it seems impossible to switch to a horizontal split screen format, the vertical mode is imposed. Another thing to note about local co-op modes in LEGO games: by default, friendly fire is enabled. Finally, and this is something specific to this episode, the dynamic split screen that has been integrated for a while in LEGO games has disappeared here. The reason is simple: it wouldn't have been possible with the biggest TPS orientation of this episode and the "precise" aim related to firearms.
